Marrow is a literary magazine committed to publishing work that explores dark spaces. We’re interested in writing that uses compelling language and imagery to remind us what it means to be human, that makes wonderful the plain and strange the ordinary. We accept poetry, fiction, non-fiction, hybrid, and multimedia pieces.

Ash Sparks lives in Washington State with her wife, and son (new baby in 2025). She has her undergrad in theatre and mass communications, as well as a masters in creative writing and literature. She is also the head coach for a roller derby team on the Olympic Peninsula. When there is spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, and hiking with her family.

Jocelyn Szczepaniak-Gillece is a cultural historian, teacher, and writer of dark fiction. Her parents didn't believe her when she broke her arm at 7, which may have signaled the start of her obsession with literature and film from Eastern Europe.

Marco Etheridge is a writer of prose, an occasional playwright, and a part-time poet. He lives and writes in Vienna, Austria. His work has been featured in more than sixty reviews and journals across Canada, Australia, the UK, and the USA. Marco’s volume of collected flash fiction, Broken Luggage, is available worldwide. When he isn’t crafting stories, Marco is a contributing editor and layout grunt for a new ‘Zine called Hotch Potch.

Paul Ilechko is a British American poet and occasional songwriter who lives with his partner in Lambertville, NJ. His work has appeared in many journals, including The Bennington Review, The Night Heron Barks, deLuge, Stirring, and The Inflectionist Review. He has also published several chapbooks.
Quinn
Quinn is a public school teacher, artist, and mom. She has bachelor's degrees in English education and theater arts, and a master's degree in English literature. She lives in Iowa with her partner, their two kids, two cats, and backyard chickens.
