We founded Marrow because we wanted to lift up voices of difference, of rebellion, of resilience. For us, stories are the key to power. And more of them makes us more powerful.

In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to nullify Americans’ bodily autonomy, Marrow Magazine is looking for personal narratives about abortion. We stand behind the rights of all people to make their own decisions about their bodies. No one should be forced to carry a pregnancy.

So many of us have been personally affected by the sudden revocation of our right to make choices about our reproductive health. We want to hear you, to amplify your stories.

Whether your personal narrative is a poem, a journal entry, hybrid work, artwork, photography, or an essay, we want to help you share it. It does not need to be “creative writing”–it doesn’t need to be polished. We’re interested in real personal experiences with raw emotions behind them. Whether you had an abortion yourself, needed to face the decision, helped a partner or friend, are a provider, have had difficulty getting necessary care, or lay awake at night worried about the future your children might live in, we want to hear it.

We want to know: How has overturning Roe v. Wade affected you? How has, or will, it impact your life? What kind of choices now lay–or don’t–at your feet?
