Game-Space as Inside-Outside: A Inspo List by Perry Ruhland

With “End Screen of Your Life”, I wanted to write a story about video games as an extension of reality, the world of memory and dreams, a set of strange mirrors or windows to certain aspects of the real. While none of the works that follow served as direct inspirations on my story (and some of them were only discovered after I’d written it), they take similar approaches to game-space as something stranger than “escape”.
