Strengthening “Being” Verbs

This is a revision prompt so you need a poem you have already written and are workshopping. The prompt itself is pretty simple.

Reread your poem and identify any “being” verbs. The “being” verbs are: am, are, was, were, be, is, being, been. After you have identified these verbs, replace them with a stronger and more active verb. The idea is that it will add stronger images to the poem.

For example:
Today is a pretty day.
Today bloomed into a pretty day.

You try!
